About Anh Em
Located at 1252 S 21st St, Philadelphia, PA 19146, Anh Em operates as a vietnamese serving Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 4 pm–2 am. Note that it does not open on Tuesday. Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

What an amazing place in point breeze. The salt pepper shrimp and wings are amazing perfectly crispy and seasoning. The pork belly was super tender, i could eat this every day.

I was excited to try this place, as this corner of Point Breeze can really use a new sit-down restaurant. It did not disappoint! The fish sauce wings and salt and pepper tofu were excellent, but I thought the crepes with pork and shrimp were a real star. The service was attentive and friendly, and it has a kind of dimly lit and sexy vibe inside. I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely loved our experience during the soft opening! The crispy tofu and tomato dish was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the lemongrass chicken was perfectly prepared and packed with bold, vibrant flavors. One of my favorite surprises was being able to order the Happy Lark as a mocktail. The sweet-and-sour combination was absolutely delicious and felt every bit as special as the original cocktail. My husband ordered the “Pho the Culture,” and it captured all of those warm, comforting pho spices in a really creative way. It’s always exciting to discover a new restaurant before everyone else does, and this place definitely made a great first impression. We can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Stopped by on their first day of their soft open. Firstly, the service was so seamless and quick I still can’t believe it was only a soft opening. Everyone working was so nice and respectful. The food was also great! I only got the Thit Kho, and it was so good. Also everything as it was coming out looked amazing so I can’t wait to come back and try everything else! Lastly, the cocktail I got, Pho the Culture, was so unique and delicious. It tasted exactly like pho, and my tastebuds were so confused in the best way. Every time I took a sip I literally kept waiting for noodles. My only really small nitpick is that I wish there were more non-shrimp options. There were a handful of things that had shrimp, pork & shrimp, or tofu options, and I would have appreciated a just pork option. But that’s a very small complaint and I can’t wait to keep coming back to this place and trying more things! What a successful soft open!

Went last night for their soft open, it was delicious! Highly recommend the Bo Tai Chanh and Canh Ga Chien. Service was excellent too, owners and staff were all lovely. Will definitely be back!
